Basketball Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Chaparral was the 70-67 winner over King when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Pumas fell 61-55 to the Wolves on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while the Wolves are ranked 224th).

It was another big night for Mark Cadena, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds for King. Cadena is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last three games he's played. Chukwuma Ezinwa was another key player, putting up 15 points and five rebounds.

Chaparral now has a losing record of 3-4. As for King, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Chaparral will be home for the holidays to greet Paloma Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pumas will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.58 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. King will take on Sierra Vista in a holiday battle at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolves will be up against the Dons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.23 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
