Basketball Recap: Worth County Comes Up Short

Worth County was the 60-50 winner over Thomas County Central when they last played one another back in November, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 57-54 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rams have suffered since December 21, 2024.

Thomas County Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was A'Riyah Hall out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. Thanks to that strong game, Hall now owns an excellent 50% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Nia Hayes, who went 6-for-13 on her way to 17 points.

Worth County now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Thomas County Central, their record is now an identical 2-3.

Coming up, Worth County will challenge Veterans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams are facing the Warhawks at the right time seeing as the Warhawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Thomas County Central, they will face off against Cairo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
