Basketball Recap: Pine Ridge Comes Up Short

Pine Ridge played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Winter Springs Bears and fell 58-23. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-11.

Winter Springs got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sydney Hanson out in front who went 5 for 11 on her way to 15 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Summer Mason, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Pine Ridge's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Winter Springs, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Pine Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Space Coast at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winter Springs, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 45-23 defeat against Lake Mary on the 10th.
