For the second straight game, St. Croix Central will face off against Amery. The Panthers will challenge the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Croix Central's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Amery's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
St. Croix Central barely beat Amery the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Warriors on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Brecken Ponath and Eli Babler were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Ponath struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Babler pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Ponath also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because St. Croix Central is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise. At bat, Ponath went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Babler went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave Ponath a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brett Graese, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Heath Kent, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double.
St. Croix Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
St. Croix Central's record now sits at 9-6. As for Amery, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Croix Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Amery struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
