Preview: Concord Raiders vs. St. Georges Tech Hawks
Concord is 1-6 against St. Georges Tech since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Concord Raiders' road trip will continue as they head out to face the St. Georges Tech Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on January 16th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Concord scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past DuPont, posting a 69-28 victory on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Concord has managed all season.
St. Georges Tech posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They really took it to Polytech for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-30 victory on the road. With St. Georges Tech ahead 47-20 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Blair Thomas was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Joshua Obiora, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Concord's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for St. Georges Tech, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Concord came up short against St. Georges Tech when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 59-53. Can Concord avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
