Jal and Eunice are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2023, but likely not for long. The Panthers will welcome the Cardinals at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Jal will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Jal's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Dora 24-0. That 24 run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.
Johnna Butts made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.

In other batting news, Jal got a massive performance out of Kaedyn Lujan, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Lujan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Paetyn Lujan, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Jal always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .867. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Eunice fell victim to Loving and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 11-0 to the Falcons. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
The victory got Jal back to even at 12-12. As for Eunice, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jal has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Eunice struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Jal came out on top in a nail-biter against Eunice when the teams last played last Tuesday, sneaking past 11-9. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
