Baseball Game Preview: Thatcher Eagles vs. Amphitheater Panthers

The Thatcher Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Amphitheater Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Thatcher duked it out with Rio Rico on Tuesday. The Eagles took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks.

Jett Howard made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Amphitheater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 26-2 to Flowing Wells.

Amphitheater's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Thatcher, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-8.

Everything went Thatcher's way against Amphitheater when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Thatcher made off with a 6-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
