Preview: Bishop Rosecrans Bishops vs. Wellington School Jaguars
Bishop Rosecrans and Wellington School are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Bishop Rosecrans Bishops will head out on the road to square off against the Wellington School Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Rosecrans is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Bishop Rosecrans scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fairfield Christian Academy 85-40 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-29.
It was another big night for Grady Labishak, who went 11 for 16 from beyond the arc en route to 54 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Brendan Bernath was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Wellington School posted their biggest victory yet this season on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Berne Union as Wellington School made off with a 54-34 victory. The victory was just what Wellington School needed coming off of a 59-37 loss in their prior game.
Skyler Nicholson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Malcolm Wade, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Bishop Rosecrans is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Wellington School, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Bishop Rosecrans have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 27.4 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Wellington School, though, as they've been averaging only 20.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Bishop Rosecrans' way against Wellington School in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Bishop Rosecrans made off with a 65-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Rosecrans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
