Softball Game Preview: Overbrook Rams vs. Salem Rams

Overbrook has gone a perfect 3-0 against Salem recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Overbrook will be playing at home against Salem at 4:00 p.m. Overbrook has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Overbrook took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Glassboro, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 15-14 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Overbrook got a massive performance out of Cecelia Mitchell, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave Mitchell a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Gianna Simon, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Overbrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 15-0 to Gloucester Catholic.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Overbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Overbrook took their win against Salem when the teams last played back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 20-1 score. Will Overbrook repeat their success, or does Salem has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
