Baseball Recap: Father Judge Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Father Judge had won four straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 12-5 to make it five. They blew past the Roman Catholic Cahillite 11-1. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Cahillite recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Shane Szychulski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kevin Krause was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Ryan King was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Father Judge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .371 or higher in three consecutive matches.

As for Roman Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with Father Judge: they've now lost six in a row.

On Roman Catholic's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pat Buckley, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Father Judge will square off against rival St. Joseph's Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Crusaders 3.9, the Hawks 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Roman Catholic is set to take on their familiar foe Lansdale Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
