The matchup between Marion Center and Portage on Friday hardly resembled the 21-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Stingers put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 42-20 victory. The win continues a trend for the Stingers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marion Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Troy Slovinsky, who picked up 133 receiving yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 88 yards and one score. Another passer making a difference was Camden Rising, who threw for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.

Easton Slanoc and Llheson Walker certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Slanoc rushed for 61 yards and a pair of TDs, while Walker gained 109 total yards and a touchdown. Walker was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards.

Marion Center's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Portage, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
