Basketball Recap: Newcomb Comes Up Short

Newcomb lost against Navajo Prep back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Newcomb Skyhawks were outmatched by the Navajo Prep Eagles and fell 72-39. The Skyhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newcomb's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Navajo Prep, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newcomb will take on Thoreau at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Stetson Perry and Savier Thomas. As for Navajo Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tohatchi at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Navajo Prep has won three straight at home, while Tohatchi won eight straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
