 Jordan-Matthews came tearing into  Wednesday's  match with four straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the North Moore Mustangs  7-6. That's more bragging rights for Jordan-Matthews, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 For North Moore's part,  Sydney Russell was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she  struck out 11 batters over  7.1 innings while giving up just two earned  (and five unearned) runs off   12  hits. Russell was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 1-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and a  triple.
 Russell wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Calissa Clendenin, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.  Ansley Preslar was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in two of her four plate appearances.
 Jordan-Matthews pushed their record up to 9-2 with that  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.3 runs per game. As for North Moore, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
 Jordan-Matthews has the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome Southeast Alamance at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Southeast Alamance is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.3  runs per game this season. As for North Moore, they will be staying on the road  on Thursday to face off against Asheboro at 7:00  p.m. Asheboro's hitters has struggled lately (they haven't scored a  run in six consecutive games), something the team is no doubt ready to change.
