Volleyball Recap: Seckman Jaguars vs. Saxony Lutheran Crusaders

Seckman had lost six straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-17 to make it seven. They fell just short of the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders by a score of 3-2. The Jaguars were not able to make up for their loss to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Sam Wason paced Seckman's offense, picking up 20 kills. Wason got some help from Braden Heyl and his 22 assists. Heyl was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

As for Saxony Lutheran, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-11. The win was some much needed relief for they as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Saxony Lutheran found their leader in freshman Samuel Petzoldt, who had 20 digs and four aces. Petzoldt also set a new season-high mark in assists with 20.

Seckman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Kirkwood on the 29th. As for Saxony Lutheran, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lutheran on the 1st.
