The Hughes Lions won the last time they faced the Perry County Vikings, and things went their way on Monday too. Hughes skirted past the Vikings 53-50.

Perry County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryvyn Brown, who scored 15 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Brown scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Pevahouse, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten assists.

Hughes' win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Perry County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Hughes will be playing at home against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Perry County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Waverly Central is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
