The George Jenkins Eagles will take on the Lakeland Christian Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
George Jenkins had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Lakeland on Tuesday. The Eagles blew past the Dreadnaughts 9-1. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Dreadnaughts recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Junior Jacquez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brayden Abdon and Bryce Vern did most of the damage at the plate: Abdon scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Vern scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave Vern a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Phakousonh, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Lakeland Christian's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to McKeel Academy on Friday. Everything went the Vikings' way against Victory Christian Academy as they made off with a 13-3 victory.
Nathan Diaz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Diaz was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
In other pitching news, Alex Arthur looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Peyton Brenneman was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Bryndon Barton, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI.
Lakeland Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for George Jenkins, their record is now 15-7.
George Jenkins came out on top in a nail-biter against Lakeland Christian in their previous matchup last Thursday, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
