Basketball Recap: Parker Johnson Key Part of a Team Effort in Knights Win

Kingsland won the last time they faced Hayfield and things went their way on Monday too. The Kingsland Knights put the hurt on the Hayfield Vikings with a sharp 60-35 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 22 points or more this season.

Kingsland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Parker Johnson led the charge by going 7 of 16 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaaleem Reiland, who posted ten points and five steals.

Kingsland now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Hayfield, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Kingsland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-63 victory against Mabel-Canton on the 17th. As for Hayfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 88-47 defeat against Goodhue on the 17th.
