Soccer Recap: Lumberton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Douglas Byrd last Tuesday, Lumberton came back down to earth. Lumberton came up short against the Richmond Raiders on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The contest was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Lumberton it sure didn't stay that way.

Lumberton dropped their record down to 4-7-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Richmond, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-6-1.

Looking ahead, Lumberton will be playing in front of their home fans against Seventy-First at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lumberton is facing Seventy-First at the right time seeing as Seventy-First is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Richmond, they will head out on the road to take on Southern Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Richmond's defense better be ready for this one: Southern Lee has averaged an impressive 4.6 goals per game this season.
