Baseball Recap: West Port Comes Up Short

West Port lost to Crystal River back in April of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wolf Pack lost 14-1 to the Pirates. That's two games in a row now that the Wolf Pack have lost by exactly 13 runs.

Cole Cordes made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for West Port and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Crystal River, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Looking ahead, West Port will venture away from home to take on Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crystal River, they will welcome Trinity Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Celtics have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.17 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
