Softball Recap: Apollo Comes Up Short

Apollo lost against Tecumseh back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles fell 5-1 to the Braves. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mollie Julian spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Apollo saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Stallings, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. Liza Page also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Apollo's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Tecumseh, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Apollo will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Red Bud at 1:00 p.m. The Musketeers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Tecumseh, they will face off against Evansville Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
