After losing to Rio Hondo the last time they met, Raymondville decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bearkats never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Friday. The Bearkats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Noel Reta, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tommy Gonzalez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Raymondville's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Rio Hondo, they dropped their record down to 13-8 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Raymondville is taking a road trip to challenge Santa Rosa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearkats are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Rio Hondo, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-2 win against Progreso on the 5th.
