Basketball Recap: Will Lindsay's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mountain Ridge over Herriman

Mountain Ridge's game on Friday was all tied up 37-37 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 74-67 to the Herriman Mustangs. The defeat continues a trend for the Sentinels in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost six in a row.

Mountain Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Lindsay, who posted 18 points and six boards. The contest was Lindsay's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Blackwell, who earned 16 points and six assists.

Herriman was led to victory by Cale Barclay and Carlo Mulford. Barclay had 24 points and six rebounds, while Mulford put up 21 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Drayten Stilson, who scored ten points.

Mountain Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Herriman, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Mountain Ridge will face off against Corner Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Corner Canyon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Herriman, they will take on Bingham at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
