Soccer Game Preview: Mountain View vs. Provo

The Mountain View Bruins will take on the Provo Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mountain View will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Orem, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bruins never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Mountain View.

Kalvin Floyd and Rodrigo Cuevas scored both of Mountain View's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Provo had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Cottonwood on Friday. Considering Provo have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mountain View pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matchups. As for Provo, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Mountain View suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Provo when the teams last played back in April. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
