Softball Recap: Beaverton Beavers vs. Westview Wildcats
Beaverton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Westview Wildcats, falling 11-5. If the Beavers were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Amy Rusin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Gracie Burnett was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
Beaverton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Westview, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.
Beaverton and Westview could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings. The Beavers will take on Jesuit at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (53 vs. 1). Meanwhile, Westview (ranked 58th) will meet Sunset (ranked second) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
