Basketball Recap: Jayden Taylor's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Azle over Fossil Ridge

Azle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They lost 65-45 to the Fossil Ridge Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-52 back in January.

Azle's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Taylor, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. Cason Cook was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Azle's loss dropped their record down to 10-25. As for Fossil Ridge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-17.

Azle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fossil Ridge, they will head out to square off against Birdville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fossil Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
