Baseball Recap: Kingsbury Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sheffield last Tuesday, Kingsbury came back down to earth. The Kingsbury Falcons came up short against the Overton Wolverines on Thursday, falling 18-8. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Deyber Lovera Marin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Luther Mitchell also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Lovera Marin wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Kingsbury kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-2. As for Overton, their win bumped their record up to 6-1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingsbury will take on Trezevant at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Overton, they will challenge Craigmont at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Overton is facing Craigmont at the right time seeing as Craigmont is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
