Volleyball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Fort Bend Travis' Winning Streak

It was a proper cat-fight when Fort Bend Travis duked it out with Ridge Point on Friday. The Tigers fell 3-1 to the Panthers. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-14, 22-25, 25-12.

Despite the loss, Fort Bend Travis saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Molly McClimans had 14 assists and seven digs. McClimans has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last eight times she's played.

Ridge Point can attribute much of their success to Piper Marquart, who had 13 digs and two aces.

Fort Bend Travis now has a losing record of 17-18. As for Ridge Point, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Fort Bend Travis will face off against rival Fort Bend Elkins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ridge Point is set to take on their familiar foe Fort Bend Dulles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
