Pittsfield waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Sunapee Lakers get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Considering the Panthers have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Alex Penney, who gave up just two hits and racked up 19 Ks to keep Sunapee off the board. Penney has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alivia Lavigne, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Savannah Chagnon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
