Softball Recap: Capital Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Capital duked it out with Nitro on Monday. The Cougars fell 9-5 to the Wildcats. The Cougars have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Faithanna Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Jadan Bishop was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Sedosky, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Capital's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Nitro, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.

Capital has already played their next matchup, an 18-2 loss against St. Albans on the 8th. As for Nitro, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 25-2 defeat against Lincoln County on the 8th.
