Merrill and Lakeland are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Bluejays will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. Merrill will be strutting in after a victory while Lakeland will be coming in after a defeat.

Merrill took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Rhinelander 27-13.

Meanwhile, Lakeland lost to Tomahawk at home by a 28-13 margin on Friday. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Merrill's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.3 points over those games. As for Lakeland, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Merrill took their win against Lakeland in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 34-14 score. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Thunderbirds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
