It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Deerfield Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Worcester Academy Hilltoppers 4-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Big Green also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Deerfield Academy pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Worcester Academy, their record is now 5-4.

Coming up, Deerfield Academy will head out to take on Dexter Southfield at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Dexter Southfield will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Deerfield Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Worcester Academy, they will challenge Phillips Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Big Blue's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so the Hilltoppers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
