Football Recap: Blackhawk Takes a Loss

Blackhawk's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 38-21 bruising from the Beaver Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Bobcats are ranked 106th).

Despite the loss, Blackhawk still got an impressive performance from Brayden McCarthy, who rushed for 226 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. McCarthy really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.

Blackhawk dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Beaver, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Blackhawk is taking a road trip to face off against North Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Beaver, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Imani Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m.
