Baseball Game Preview: Columbia Roughnecks vs. El Campo Ricebirds

Columbia is 1-9 against El Campo since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Roughnecks will head out to face off against the Ricebirds at 7:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Columbia came up short against Sweeny and fell 4-1. The Roughnecks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grant Thrasher made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, El Campo had just enough and edged out West Fork 4-3 on Saturday.

Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 12-8-2. As for El Campo, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6-1.

Columbia skirted past El Campo 1-0 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Roughnecks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
