Basketball Recap: Catawba Ridge Sets Scoring Season-High Against Indian Land

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Catawba Ridge). They came out on top against the Indian Land Warriors by a score of 51-44 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Copperheads also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Indian Land's loss came despite strong showings from Katilyn Knoll and Ava Pensule. Knoll dropped a triple-double on ten points, 12 boards, and ten steals, while Pensule posted 11 points and six steals. Knoll is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emily Callahan, who had eight points and six rebounds.

Catawba Ridge's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8. As for Indian Land, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

Catawba Ridge will face off against Nation Ford at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Indian Land, they will take on Clover at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clover will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Indian Land surely won't give up without a fight.
