Softball Preview: Radford Rams vs. Kailua Surfriders

Radford has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Kailua Surfriders at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Thursday, Radford got the win against McKinley by a conclusive 10-2.

Kyralee-Marie Cordeiro made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Cordeiro was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She hasn't dropped below two stolen bases for three straight games.

In other batting news, Radford let Olena Umetsu and Sherri Marshall loose on the outfield. Umetsu scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Marshall scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Umetsu is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Anderson, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and a double.

Meanwhile, everything went Kailua's way against Farrington on Tuesday as Kailua made off with a 16-2 victory. The win was just what Kailua needed coming off of a 15-4 loss in their prior contest.

Radford's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Kailua, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
