It was a good run, but Cobden unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wayne City Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Appleknockers of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-13.

Keela Kaszubski paced Cobden's offense, picking up two kills. Kaszubski got some help from Lupita Zamora and her three assists.

Cobden's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Wayne City, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Coming up, Cobden will head out on the road to face off against Century at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wayne City, they will be playing at home against Crab Orchard at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
