Basketball Recap: Bronaugh Drops Season-High Score on Varsity Opponent

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bronaugh). They walked away with a 62-50 victory over Varsity Opponent on Monday. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 57-47 win Varsity Opponent walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Bronaugh got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Strauss Banes out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. The match was Banes' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Colter Banes was another key player, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Bronaugh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.

The win got Bronaugh back to even at 4-4.

Bronaugh and Hume will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-54 victory against Carolina Friends on the 16th.
