Basketball Recap: Mosley Comes Up Short

Mosley suffered their biggest loss since November 21, 2024 on Friday. They were dealt a 60-27 defeat at the hands of the Dawson County Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 401st in Florida, while the Tigers are ranked 144th in Georgia).

Mosley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caydence Keys, who posted three points along with eight boards and three blocks. Keys is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie Rimmer, who had nine points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Mosley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.

Mosley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Dawson County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

Mosley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-19 defeat against McGill-Toolen on the 28th. As for Dawson County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-38 loss against Niceville on the 28th.
