Softball Recap: West Bridgewater Takes a Loss

West Bridgewater entered their match against Apponequet Regional on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wildcats came up short against the Lakers, falling 20-2. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

West Bridgewater saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alanna Fidalgo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Fidalgo has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for West Bridgewater and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Apponequet Regional, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Bridgewater will venture away from home to face off against Cardinal Spellman at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Apponequet Regional, they will head out to square off against Dighton-Rehoboth Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
