Softball Recap: Hermann Bearcats vs. Mark Twain Tigers
Hermann was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 6-2 to the Mark Twain Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bearcats of the 11-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Allison Brown was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Molly Scheer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Even though they lost, Hermann didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with nine strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mark Twain only tossed five.
Hermann's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Hermann's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sullivan at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mark Twain, they will host Silex at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
