Basketball Recap: Jamaury Elvine's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bleckley County over Business Engineering Science Tech

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bleckley County can now relate to. They fell 58-51 to the Business Engineering Science Tech Eagles on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Eagles are ranked 44th).

Bleckley County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamaury Elvine, who posted eight points and ten rebounds. Elvine has become a key player for Bleckley County: the team is 10-2 when he posts at least ten boards, but 6-12 otherwise. Nykez Farrow was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Business Engineering Science Tech's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Mickell, who earned 15 points and three steals. Mickell's big performance that evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Alexander Barrett, who put up eight points and nine rebounds.

Bleckley County is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-14. As for Business Engineering Science Tech, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-7.
