Flag Football Recap: Westlake Takes a Loss

If Westlake was riding high fresh off their 28-0 takedown of Thousand Oaks last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors lost 32-7 to the Newbury Park Panthers on Tuesday. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 38-22.

Annabel O'Keefe threw for 208 yards and one touchdown. Summer Davis was her top target, picking up 103 receiving yards and one score.

Westlake's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. As for Newbury Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Westlake didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-13 victory against Oaks Christian on the 8th. As for Newbury Park, they will square off against Agoura at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers' defense has only allowed 10.7 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
