Baseball Game Preview: Northside Christian Mustangs vs. Wesley Chapel Wildcats

The Northside Christian Mustangs will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Wesley Chapel Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Northside Christian is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They fell 6-2 to Bishop Verot on Wednesday.

Northside Christian got a good showing from Auston Anderson, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Northside Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yordan Rosendo, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, Rosendo also racked up two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Wesley Chapel was able to grind out a solid victory over Sickles on Wednesday, taking the game 7-4.

JoJo Guevara made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit over five innings pitched. Guevara was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Wesley Chapel let Jacob Christensen and Zorre Wright loose on the outfield. Christensen scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Wright scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Nolan Hartley was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.
