Soccer Game Preview: Goldwater vs. Lee Williams

The Goldwater Bulldogs will face off against the Lee Williams Volunteers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Goldwater's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Coronado with a sharp 5-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

They hit Coronado with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Olivia Lohman (2), Sydney Rose, Amelia Lohman, and Makena Jordan.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lee Williams). They blew past Peoria 5-2 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Volunteers have won by exactly three goals.

The victory made it two in a row for Lee Williams and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Goldwater, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Goldwater suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Lee Williams in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Goldwater avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
