Irvington Preparatory Academy are taking a road trip to take on the Providence Cristo Rey Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Irvington Preparatory Academy will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
On Monday, Irvington Preparatory Academy made easy work of Indianapolis Washington and carried off a 20-3 victory. The result was nothing new for Irvington Preparatory Academy, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Jordan White made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Aiden Pollock was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Josh Newsome also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Providence Cristo Rey came out on top against Tindley on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive 16-run third inning. The Wolves put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 18-4 win. The Wolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The team relied heavily on Jonas Wells, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Robert Weaver, who earned two runs and four stolen bases.
Providence Cristo Rey always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .905. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tindley only posted an OBP of .273.
Irvington Preparatory Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Providence Cristo Rey, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Providence Cristo Rey's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Irvington Preparatory Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Providence Cristo Rey, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Irvington Preparatory Academy keep running through batters, or will Providence Cristo Rey buck the trend?
Irvington Preparatory Academy took their win against Providence Cristo Rey in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 23-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Irvington Preparatory Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
