Softball Game Preview: Ocoee Knights vs. Jones Fightin' Tigers

Ocoee is a perfect 4-0 against Jones since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Ocoee Knights will square off against the Jones Fightin' Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Jones took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ocoee, who comes in off a win.

Ocoee will bounce into Thursday's match after beating West Orange, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Everything went Ocoee's way against West Orange on Tuesday as Ocoee made off with a 20-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Ocoee let Zoey Gray and Trista Fitzpatrick run wild. Gray scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Fitzpatrick scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, Gray posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Reese Guido, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Jones unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 28-18 to University on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Fightin' Tigers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

Shia Harris was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Ocoee now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Jones, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
