Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Melissa Rodriguez and Chevy Biber Lead Monache to Victory

Monache won the last time they faced Golden West and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Marauders walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Trailblazers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Marauders.

Monache had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-16.

Monache was led to victory by Chevy Biber and Melissa Rodriguez. Biber had 13 digs, while Rodriguez had 12 digs and nine kills. Those 13 digs gave Biber a new career-high.

Monache was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive contests.

The win got Monache back to even at 13-13-1. As for Golden West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-20 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Monache and Mt. Whitney will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Golden West, they will be playing at home against Redwood at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
