Basketball Recap: Frankfort Hot Dogs vs. Rossville Hornets

Frankfort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 59-17 loss at the hands of the Rossville Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Hot Dogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while the Hornets are ranked 164th).

Despite the loss, Frankfort still got an impressive performance from Ella Mcatee, who posted 14 points and four steals. Gracie Layton also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Rossville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava Burkle out in front who put up eight points in addition to eight boards and six steals. Another player making a difference was Victoria Vanderwall, who scored 12 points and four steals.

Frankfort's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Rossville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankfort will challenge Western Boone at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rossville, they will square off against Tri-Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rossville is facing Tri-Central at the right time seeing as Tri-Central is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
