Basketball Recap: Stevens Point Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Leah Awe and Jada Seubert

Stevens Point suffered their biggest loss since November 29, 2024 on Friday. They lost 92-69 to the Hopkins Royals. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (68), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Stevens Point's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jada Seubert, who went 10-for-16 to rack up 24 points along with five assists and four steals, and Leah Awe, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Strong, who shot 56% from the field en route to 11 points.

Stevens Point's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Hopkins, the victory was the ninth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 2-0.
