Hay Springs won the last time they faced Cody-Kilgore and things went their way  on Friday too. The Hawks really took it to the Cowboys/Cowgirls for the full four quarters, racking up  a  78-12 win. With the Hawks ahead  51-0 at the half, the  matchup was all but over already.
Leading Hay Springs to victory were  Tripp Buettner and  Jaydub Turman.  Buettner gained 187 total yards and five touchdowns, while  Turman threw for 159 yards and three  touchdowns on perfect 5-for-5 passing. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 73 yards.  Arian Mata was another key back, rushing for 72 yards and one  score.
 Hay Springs didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Cody-Kilgore to a completion percentage of just 37.5%. The Hawks have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.6 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.6 in their last three games.
 Despite the loss, Cody-Kilgore still got an impressive performance from   Kaden McNare, who rushed for 59 yards and a pair of  TDs on only seven carries, and also picked up 31 receiving yards.
Hay Springs has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record  this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 57 points. As for Cody-Kilgore, their defeat was  their fourth straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 1-5.
